Mobile removal or a vehicle arriving by tow?
These visits require advance confirmation and a separate service-center convenience fee, not a LifeSafer charge. Towed vehicles must be delivered inside our building with staff present at an agreed time. Review what the fees cover, exclusions and delivery requirements.

Appointment-based ignition interlock service for Minnesota participants, with careful vehicle intake and clear confirmation requirements.
Installation
Standard and complex-vehicle installations are scheduled according to vehicle requirements, program authorization and available service capacity.
Calibration and monitoring visits
Routine calibration appointments help keep program requirements on track. Arrive on time with the vehicle operational and accessible.
Vehicle swaps and removals
Vehicle changes and authorized removals require advance coordination. Work completed elsewhere may require inspection, documentation review or corrective labor before service can continue.
Vehicle diagnostics and battery support
Battery condition, warning lights, stored diagnostic codes and vehicle electronics can affect installation and service. Pre- and post-service scans or electrical diagnosis may be recommended and are separate automotive services when not included by the interlock program.
Service limits and authorization
St. Paul Ignition Interlock provides ignition-interlock service as an independent service center. DVS and the device manufacturer control program eligibility, driving privilege, required actions, installation authorization, and removal authorization.
An interlock installation, calibration, removal, or related service is not a safety inspection and does not certify that a vehicle is safe to drive. Arrange transportation only in a way that is legally permitted.
Before service, disclose fluid leaks; check-engine, airbag/SRS, ADAS, brake, steering, battery, charging, starting, electrical, or drivability concerns; collision damage; and aftermarket or remote-start equipment. We may defer service, request repair or specialist diagnosis, or require separate authorization for diagnostic, cleanup, materials, or added labor when vehicle condition makes the requested work unsuitable or unsafe to perform.
