Mobile ignition interlock removal
If you need the device removed at another location, contact us to review the vehicle, location, provider authorization and availability. Mobile removal is offered only when we can safely perform the agreed work. A request does not confirm a visit or authorize removal.
Mobile-service convenience fee: $150. Confirm the location, scope and total with us before scheduling. This is our charge for the client’s convenience of an agreed off-site visit, not a LifeSafer fee.
What the mobile convenience fee covers
The fee covers arranging and attending the agreed mobile visit, including technician travel to the confirmed location and routine coordination needed for that visit. The agreed quote identifies the location, service and any travel or access conditions.
What it does not cover
- Device-removal labor, unless our written quote expressly includes it in the mobile total.
- LifeSafer account balances, equipment or provider charges, or program requirements.
- Towing, vehicle transport, lockout or key assistance, battery or charging work, diagnosis, repairs, or correcting pre-existing vehicle conditions.
- Additional travel, waiting, repeat visits or work outside the confirmed scope. Any proposed additional charge must be explained and agreed before that additional work.
Mobile attendance does not replace required removal authorization and does not guarantee that removal can be completed where the vehicle is located. Tell us in advance if the vehicle does not start, cannot be moved, has inaccessible wiring or is in a location where work cannot be performed safely. We will explain the available next step and applicable charges before you agree to the visit.
Vehicles arriving by tow
Receiving a non-running or towed-in vehicle: $50 convenience fee. This is our service center’s charge for receiving and coordinating the handling of a vehicle that cannot be driven normally. It is not a LifeSafer charge and it does not pay the towing company.
The vehicle must be delivered inside our building at a time arranged with staff. Confirm the delivery before dispatching a tow truck. Give the driver our contact details and have the driver speak with staff before unloading so we can identify the correct indoor receiving location. An unattended outdoor drop-off does not satisfy these arrangements.
What the receiving fee covers
Coordination with the tow driver, staff attendance at the agreed handoff, and the additional receiving and handling arrangements needed for a non-running vehicle. Tell us about missing keys, locked wheels, steering restrictions, leaks or other conditions that could affect unloading and movement.
What it does not cover
The fee does not include towing or transport, the tow operator’s equipment or labor, exceptional recovery or moving work, storage, diagnosis, battery replacement, mechanical or electrical repairs, or the ignition interlock service itself. We will disclose any additional proposed scope and charges separately. Do not assume that staff can push, winch or unload a vehicle without an agreed safe arrangement.
Agree on the visit before incurring charges
Ask us to confirm the service, convenience fee, any separate removal or other labor, arrival arrangements and expected total before you schedule mobile attendance or towing. An appointment, vehicle handoff or convenience fee does not change provider authorization requirements or constitute approval for unrelated repairs.
